Go and Maker Fishers of Men

Matthew 4:18-20  As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew.  They were casting a net into the Lake, for they were fishermen.  "Come, follow me." Jesus said, " and I will make you fishers of men." At once they left their nets and followed him.

As I reflected on my day yesterday I was reminded of these verses.  I had a meeting with a man in his office who was in need of a touch from God.  As he shared with me his frustrations and struggles I listened.  After listening, I guided him to the WORD of God.  I left his office asking God why He was never given the simple Word of God to assure him of his situations in life.  This man believes in the Lord, loves Him, and goes to church.  I received a call from the man later that afternoon thanking me for showing him in the Word of God the answers he needed and that I was the first person willing to take him to the Word of God and not give him my opinions.

God's Word is all that is needed to enable us to live for God in this world.  God sent his Son to die for us through his atoning sacrifice.  Jesus made fishers of men.  I would challenge all of us to consider becoming fishers of men just as Jesus taught Peter and Andrew.  For us the Holy Spirit lives in us and we can bring people to the Word of God.  Hebrews 4:12  " For the word of God is living and active. sharper than any double-edged sword. it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joint, and marrow:

On another occasion this month a 19 year old teenager said to me "I want what you have"  I told him that everything I have is what the Word of God tells me.  His hunger showed me how much people truly want the answers to life and they are looking for them anywhere they can find them.  I looked into his eyes before leaving the hospital room and could tell that fear was present.  I spoke to him that God does not give us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind.  I agreed to stay a little longer and prayed with him till the fear was gone.

On two occassions this month I have prayed with people as it related to healings that they needed.  As I left each of these people I said to them, "If you begin to get hot or feel your temperature increase just know that they Holy Spirit is healing you."  I received a phone call from one of the individuals.  He shared with me he was experiencing heat.  Praise the Lord for the Healing power of God that still is active today.

I pray that this month you will take advantage of all the opportunities to give someone the Word of God to direct their lives.

Blessings,

Todd

TBGM Women's Retreat August 3rd - 4th

When we take a break from our busy schedules, this is when we understand who God is and how much He loves us! These retreats are designed to be a special time for the women who attend. I want them to feel "Touched By His Grace" during the twenty-four hour period of the event.
This is not an "all about Rose" retreat where I speak all the time. You will have time to yourself and you can do whatever you like (take a walk, read a book, journal, take pictures, crochet, etc.) Some of it is time spent as a group just talking about life and what we are learning. There may be laughter, there may be tears, but I believe we will all walk away and say, "I will never be the same again."

Testimony:  I was blessed to visit a very fine hotel this last fall with luxurious furnishing and amenities, but honestly, I felt more pampered and definitely more LOVED on this retreat!  To me, the wonderful, home-cooked meals and the atmosphere you created with Scriptures, the fellowship of beautiful sisters in Christ, coupled with the serenity of the location and, of course, the presence of the Holy Spirit, has made that weekend top my list of best getaways ever!"

Tangible Needs:

  • Airline Tickets
  • Regular Operating budget
  • Resources for Household items in Israel

When we get to Israel and move into our home we will have the blessing and opportunity to furnish the ministry home He has for us there.  We will have to furnish everything in the home.  We are excited about creating an atmosphere of hospitality for our home church and all who come to visit us.

We look forward to having you partner with us financially as the Lord directs.   We are a Tennessee non profit organization. Your gifts are tax deductible

Leaving for Israel

As a family we are leaving to go back to Israel on September 29th or 30th.  We have 3 of our 10 bags already packed. As children get ready to go back to school,  the awareness of the close of the summer is upon us. Rose and I are preparing to return for the third year to Israel. We will miss each of you that we have spent time with here in Nashville.  We ask that you would pray for us and support us with your financial gifts.  I can assure you that your gift will be blessed as you sow into our lives.
