Rose and I send our greetings to you at the beginning of February 2008. We have been strengthened in our personal lives through quality quiet time together as a couple. We have been studying the book of Matthew, ane we have been learning the power of prayer at new levels as we speak the WORD of God over our lives. Too often we focus on the negative and allow satan to build in our lives when we should be proclaiming the life giving Word of God over our lives.
When we speak the Word of God out into the atmosphere we allow God the opportunity to build upon the framework we place there. We want to make sure that framework is the Word and in balance within the total picture where God is vinedressing us (John 15:1-3). Let me be quick to say, don't always expect instant results. If you have been speaking negative things out into the atmosphere, that didn't happen overnight. Taking back your surroundings for His glory will not happen overnight either.
Rose and I are daily speaking the Word into the atmosphere. It is interesting to note how little this happens in our lives. If you look at Jesus' ministry on earth, He spoke things into existence (healings, miracles, etc.) In Christ's early ministry we see Him tempted in the desert. He quotes the Word of God at the adversary (Matthew 4:4,7,10). If we are to be imitators of Christ, why don't we pray aloud in our homes and quote the Word of God over our lives? I believe the promises of the Word need to be activated for the best possible outcome as God has created us in His image and for His purposes. (Genesis 1:27)
Rose and I are finding that we can stand on the WORD in the will of the Lord for our life. We know that the Word is true and must come to pass. We can always use the Sword of the Spirit for accomplishing the most damaging effects to the adversary's kingdom. (Ephesians 6:17)
The goal is to make a stand right now and let the Word begin to take root in our lives. The Bible says, Thy word have I hid in my heart that I may not sin against thee (Psalm 119:11). I have come to the point in my life that this particular verse is not talking about memorization, but of a true belief and trust in the WORD. How many times do we read the Word only to forget what we have just read. We need to internalize this information as if it were our SSN, phone number, bank, or grocery store that we frequently use. Is not the WORD of God to be more important than these other things? Once again balance is what is needed. For some reason we have been out of balance as a body.
We can save ourselves a lot of heartache if we just stop and find the Scripture that is necessary to carry us through the day, week, trial, or joy we are experiencing.
In conclusion, God wants the best for each of our lives as we cultivate a personal and intimate relationship with the Lord (Jeremiah 29:11). As the world continues to spiral out of control; we can be confident God and His Kingdom will prevail as is written in the WORD (Matthew 24:12-14). We need to be ready to offer people, "The Way, Truth, and Life (John 14:6). Time is of the essence for our lives are merely vapors and what we do here on earth counts for eternity (James 4:14-17).
May God bless each of you richly as we seek the Father's will daily. I pray this word challenges each of us, myself included, to seek God at a deeper level personally in the days ahead.
Blessings,
