Love and Respect Marriage Enrichment Course Report
This Sunday (Aug. 9th) will be our last time together as a group learning about Love and Respect. We will finish with the DVD teaching us about the Rewarding Cycle. It is where we learn about the reward that awaits us when we apply the principles from the series.
This cycle teaches us that, “His love blesses regardless of her respect… Her respect blesses regardless of his love.” During the last six weeks we have laughed together, learned what it means to show a woman love and a man respect, and shared strengths and challenges that we face in our marriages.
As one husband shared, “I have learned that we can have a date night more often than we thought we could. The children have been fine without us for the past six weeks, so we can incorporate time for us.”
Another couple has said that even though it is not easy to “speak a new language,” they have found that they stop to think before they speak and react differently to one another and that it really does make a difference in their attitudes towards one another.
We thank the Lord for giving us tools from His Word to show us how to make marriages stronger and more effective.
Hesston, Kansas Women's Retreat Report

Thank you to all of you who prayed for the women’s retreat in Kansas. God showed up like He always does and we all learned something from His Word. Obstacles were overcome so the women could come. We enjoyed a thunderstorm in the middle of the night (found out later it was a pretty severe one and tornado watches had been issued near by).
But on the retreat it was the verse from Isaiah 43:4, 18-19 that brought tears to one woman’s eyes, or just the fact that God brought the 4th person on the retreat who desperately needed the time away – we all learned how to rest in Him, let ourselves be refreshed by Him, and restored ourselves to Him.
Here is the response received from one person on the retreat, “While in KC my mom bought me the book Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World. Can't wait to get into it. _______ bought Ragamuffins, and some scripture cookie boxes. How cool, we are all never going to be the same again. Thanks so much for coming to KS. You and your ministry have definitely changed the world, but you reached 4 instead of 1!”
There was talk of starting to do a retreat 3-4 times a year there in the Hesston area. I pray the Lord’s direction for them as they reach more women with His Word. And if the Lord allows me to return in the future, I will go, so more living stones can be strengthened.
Isaiah 43: 4, 18-19 “Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you . . . Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.”
